Pilanesberg Rituals and Wilderness
Wilderness is a powerful place to do soul and healing work. Thes trails in Pilanesberg Game Reserve include a few ancient rituals, silence, and a few meditations to facilitate the healing of our wounds and to understand and interpret life through the trials, tribulations, heartaches and tragedies that have come our way. Wilderness and the rituals enable us to accept that the difficult things that happen are both inevitable and necessary. That ‘losing control’ and ‘going down’ in life are normal. They open our hearts to understandings that words, books and lectures cannot do. They speak a deeper truth about who we are and how our lives are shaped by what happens to us.
The rituals and wilderness experience reflect our own ‘inner wilderness,’ illuminating the dark shadows we live with and opening them for healing.
Alongside the trail itself and the night watch are five one-sentence meditations read at intervals, silence, a wounding ritual, a water ritual, a gratitude ritual, a sacred meal, and a talking stick providing opportunities to tell our stories without interruption or judgment.
The weekend in Pilanesberg Game Reserve is a safe place to do inner soul work. It is open to all ages (over 16), genders, creeds and no creeds. It is about life. It is also a great opportunity for families or a parent and child to do inner work together.
